Computer Literacy Center and Smart Classroom Launched at Punduria Govt. Primary School, Pabna

CLP Bangladesh has inaugurated both a Computer Literacy Center (CLC) and a Smart Classroom (SCR) at 36 No. Punduria Government Primary School in Santhia Upazila, Pabna, marking a significant step toward expanding digital learning opportunities in the region. The initiative has been made possible through the generous support of Hironmoy Sikdar.

Prior to implementation, a feasibility assessment was conducted to better understand the school’s needs and existing infrastructure. The findings revealed a clear gap in access to digital tools. Despite having 807 students and 9 teachers, the school previously operated with only two desktop computers and one printer, limiting students’ ability to develop practical ICT skills.

In response, CLP Bangladesh introduced a Computer Literacy Center (CLC) equipped with additional computers, a printer, and internet connectivity, creating a dedicated space for hands-on learning. Through a structured 40-hour training program, approximately 30-50 students each year will gain essential computer skills, helping them build a strong digital foundation. Alongside the CLC, a Smart Classroom (SCR) has also been established to integrate technology into everyday teaching. With the inclusion of a smart TV, laptop, and internet access, the Smart Classroom will support more interactive and engaging lessons. It is expected to benefit approximately 150–200 students annually, particularly through enhanced English and Mathematics learning content.

A key focus of the initiative is long-term impact. Teachers are receiving training to effectively use these digital tools, ensuring that both the Computer Literacy Center and Smart Classroom are fully utilized to enrich the learning experience.
